Data Frog has released a new gaming handheld. This time, the company has borrowed from the Sony PSP. Surprisingly, the SF3000 can double as a power bank when not in use as a pocketable gaming handheld.

Data Frog has returned with yet another gaming handheld that lifts its design from more successful counterparts. For context, the company introduced the SF2000 last year, which borrowed heavily from the Super NES controller. Following that, it released the R36S with more than a passing resemblance to the older Powkiddy RGB20S (curr. $85.99 on Amazon).

This time, Data Frog has turned to Sony's gaming handheld division, much like TrimUI did last year with the Smart Pro. Specifically, the Data Frog SF3000 unmistakably looks like the PlayStation Portable, complete with transparent L and R buttons. However, Data Frog has chosen a rather odd button layout with the right-hand joystick placed above the device's ABXY buttons.

According to the company's AliExpress listing, the SF3000 utilises a 'dual-core' CPU operating at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM to power a 4.5-inch IPS display that outputs at 854 x 480 pixels. Moreover, the device contains a 3,000 mAh battery that is rated for 5-7 hours of usage and can be used as a power bank too. On top of that, the SF3000's has a 3.5 mm jack, a MicroSD card reader, a USB Type-C port and rear-mounted L2/R2 buttons.

Supposedly, the SF3000 is powerful enough to emulate up to sixth-generation video game consoles like the Dreamcast, N64 and PS1. With that being said, we would reserve judgment until independent reviews are published. Currently, Data Frog sells the SF3000 for $25.83 with a 64 GB MicroSD card. Alternatively, the gaming handheld can be ordered with one or two wireless controllers for $42.22 and $45.97, respectively.
