This one’s tough. As a standalone piece of hardware, I think most people should pass on this one and stay in their Windows/Chrome OS lanes. You’re getting an expensive laptop where you can’t use all of the cool features because your phone doesn’t talk to this at all. You can complement Apple’s services with Google and Microsoft’s, but at the end of the day, you need a foot in the door with an iPhone to really enjoy what’s here. If you just love the design, smooth performance, guaranteed updates, and overall cohesion that Apple offers, I totally get it, and it’s still a great laptop. It’s a very slick machine, but it’s arguably not worth the asking price.

Apple's 2020 13" MacBook Pro for $1799 have more advantages over the base model than you'd think, especially if you take off the bottom casing like we did.. The new 10th-Gen chips are actually Apple-exclusive, so they perform incredibly well, especially compared to some other i7 Windows laptops. Apple's 10th-Gen chips all come with G7 graphics, so you get great performance, but there's still a major issue with them that I discuss in this review. There's also one more massive complaint about this MacBook Pro that we shouldn't be dealing with in 2020... But as you'll see in this video, there are a few reasons why this $1799 MacBook Pro is so good that it won't even matter for some.

The price for the 10th gen starts at $1,799 with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SD, and the entry level model with Intel 8th gen CPUs starts at $1,299. Both share the same Retina IPS display with wide P3 color gamut and 16:10 aspect ratio, the new Magic Keyboard with scissor keys (RIP Butterfly keyboard) and aluminum unibody casing in silver or space gray. If you’re looking for something with faster performance (particularly for graphics), and a better display and speakers vs. the 2020 MacBook Air, this is worth a look.

With Apple updating the MacBook Air and releasing the new 16" MacBook Pro with a revised, scissor-style keyboard, we knew it was only a matter of time before the 13" MacBook pro got the same treatment. Here it is, and it's about what we expected. This is still a fantastic small laptop, and the top line model now comes with a new 10th gen quad-core Intel processor and options for more RAM. Pair that with a keyboard that won't drive you nuts, and you have a very compelling machine. Unfortunately, the cheaper models didn't get quite the full set of upgrades, and this new MacBook Pro is launching into a world where it has to compete against some excellent PC laptops (such as the XPS13, Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop 3 and new Galaxy Book Flex).

Major differences from the previous model include new 10th-generation Intel processor options for some models and double the base storage for all, Apple announced Monday. That takes the two lowest-priced models from 128GB of storage to 256GB; the midtier model from 256GB to 512GB and the high-end base configuration from 512GB to 1TB. Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (Ice Lake 64 EU): Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в отдельные процессоры Intel архитектуры Ice Lake. Задействует графическую архитектуру Intel одиннадцатого поколения с 64 кластерами вычислительных ядер (из возможных 64). Частота зависит от конкретной модели ЦП, базовая составляет 300 МГц, Boost-частота может достигать 1100 МГц. Процессоры Ice Lake и все встроенные в них компоненты изготавливаются на современном 10-нанометровом производстве компании Intel.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.
