Samsung Galaxy S25 – смартфон, полностью заточенный под удобство, в этом году компактный флагман Samsung кажется особенно дружелюбным. Тут и габариты, благодаря которым смартфон и в руке комфортно держать, и карманы от него не рвутся, и вполне флагманская мощь в сочетании с ярким дисплеем, и, главное, самые обширные, классно и качественно реализованные ИИ-функции на рынке. Но сосредоточенность Samsung на нейросетях играет с компанией злую шутку — корейцы будто бы не считают нужным уделять повышенное внимание еще и «железу». В итоге этому, безусловно хорошему, смартфону не хватает элементарной новизны — особенно с учетом того, что Galaxy AI будет обновляться и на S24, и даже S23 что-то достанется. Появляется ощущение легкой стагнации, как в случае со складными смартфонами, где почивающая на лаврах Samsung уже упустила роль главного инноватора.

You get a slightly elevated experience with the Plus also with a big display and battery. However, if a big display isn’t particularly what you are looking for, I recommend you go for the Galaxy S25. Priced starting at Rs 80,999, the phone’s one of the best Android smartphones in the market right now. It gives you the perfect build that’s compact, slim and light. You get great cameras, an excellent display, and the AI improvements would really grow on you. The battery –– while a larger one would have been perfect –– will still get you through a day without any hiccups.

The cameras aren't the best but they get the job done for the most part. The software experience is the best there is in the Android ecosystem (and even compared to Apple's ecosystem when considering the AI features). The only reason you shouldn't buy it is if you find the Galaxy S24 at a solid discount. Neither device is perfect, but both provide a well-rounded experience that's unmatched by any other small Android flagship.

If you ask us, matching the Ultra variant with the same polish, processor, and software but costing S$400 to S$600 less is no bad thing. The switch back to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor is a wise move by Samsung, and the phone runs brilliantly in terms of performance and battery life. The AI features are more evolved now, and Gemini integration means there’s no need to take extra steps like downloading a separate app. That said, Gemini still can't be your daily agent, but it cannot be blamed on Samsung yet.

In fact, even if yours is damaged and you genuinely need a new phone, I’d suggest saving some money and just replacing it with another Galaxy S24. That’s the problem with the Galaxy S25. It’s common for new phones not to warrant an upgrade from the previous generation, but I’m not sure the Galaxy S25 warrants an upgrade from any generation. It’s a very good phone, and there’s technically nothing wrong with it, but I can’t find a compelling reason why it needs to exist. If you’re in the market for a new Samsung phone, last year’s Galaxy S24 series is still an excellent choice. The Galaxy S24, in particular, is perfect for those looking for a smaller form factor.

The TL;DR here is that the vast majority of people with an already capable phone should not buy the Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 Plus. Of course, that won’t stop these phones from selling just fine. You see, I know what Samsung is doing here. These phones are only slightly better than the Galaxy S24 series, but they are much better than the Galaxy S22 series. For example, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus have smaller displays that aren’t nearly as bright. They also have smaller batteries and weaker selfie cameras. Obviously, they also have weaker processors, especially if you bought one with an Exynos 2200 SoC. What Samsung is assuming here is that the people who have been holding on to a Galaxy S22 (or an even older phone) will see the Galaxy S25 as a significant upgrade.

On the one hand, and most importantly: is it a viable option for people who only read phone reviews when they're shopping for a phone? By that metric, yes, the Galaxy S25 is solid. If it were me, I'd go for the Pixel 9, which retails for the same price and takes better photos. But if you prefer Samsung or your carrier's offering a good incentive, the Galaxy S25's a very nice little phone. Assuming the phone you're on now is at least a couple of years old, go for it. More critically, though, I don't think the S25 is a very impressive showing from Samsung. Again, that is not to say it's a bad phone: it does all the smartphone things competently, and it even excels in some areas.

Gaming is now a significantly smoother experience, while battery life also seems to have improved for this 2025 Galaxy phone. Meanwhile you also have that AI-dense OneUI 7.1 experience on board the Samsung Galaxy S25. Great news if you like to translate stuff, or can't be bothered to read an entire webpage. However, most other aspects of this Sammy smartphone are all too familiar. The Samsung Galaxy S25's camera isn't as impressive as many other flagship phones in 2025. I saw way too much noise in my photos, while pics of moving subjects and portrait shots usually fail to impress.

The device’s peak luminance, measured at 2,600 nits, provided a top-tier readability experience, especially under sunlight. The device’s Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is the same as on the S24 classic from last year, and it is not equipped with an anti-reflective coating that comes with the Ultra versions, which was a contributing factor to the S25’s slightly lower readability score. That said, the Samsung Galaxy S25 provides a best-in-class reading experience for its segment. Color rendering was not at the level of the flagship S25 Ultra since color shifts were observed when the device was viewed at an angle. But the Galaxy S25 shares some of its sibling’s other good performance points, such as a large gamut and a very accurate natural mode.

Perhaps the highest praise I can give to a phone in 2025 is that there was just enough AI to not make me go crazy. The S25 and S25 Plus have their fair share of AI-powered features, but for the most part, there are only several that I can see myself willingly using. Others like Portrait Studio and Drawing Assist may be fun for keynote demos, but don't seem to serve a real purpose beyond that. (But it wouldn't be a Galaxy phone without a flashy feature no one uses, right??) Thankfully, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus continue to deliver on what, to me, makes the Galaxy S series notable: good cameras, solid battery life and a seamless interface. Because there are so many similarities between the S25 and S25 Plus, and the higher battery capacity on the Plus didn't result in any startling differences (although superfast charging is great), I'd personally save some money and just go with the baseline S25.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 doesn’t usher in huge amounts of change compared to the Galaxy S24 so unless you’re really looking for a hardware boost, if you have last year’s model, there is little reason to upgrade. That said, if you have an older Samsung Galaxy S model, or another phone that is a couple of years old, the Galaxy S25 is a pocket powerhouse. It has a lovely small form factor that is a delight to hold, a great display, consistent camera results and a smooth and slick performance. There are some clever AI features on board too, and the software makes for a great user experience overall. It might not be the S25 series device that offers it all, but if you’re looking for a small and powerful Android phone, this is a brilliant option.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is a bit of a mixed bag, since it provides a few notable upgrades and just as many reused components from last year's Galaxy S24. Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is a powerhouse, there's now 12GB RAM on the base model, and you get Wi-Fi 7 support. On the other hand, the rear camera system, display, and charging speeds are all unfortunately unchanged for another year. That isn't quite enough to count the Galaxy S25 out, because Samsung tweaked the design this time round to make it the smallest flagship phone on the market. It might sound crazy to call a 6.2-inch handset a compact device, but it's the best we've got in 2025.

The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus both sit in a pretty peculiar spot. For the Galaxy S25, it’s competing with the likes of the Pixel 9 and OnePlus 13 (even though it starts at $100 more). Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Plus is essentially competing with another Samsung phone – the Galaxy S25 Ultra – along with other flagships. Making it the red-headed step-child of the Galaxy S25 family, which I know a bit about. Nevertheless, I really like both of these phones. I do believe that these are both more comfortable to hold than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. And to be honest, you’re not missing a whole lot by going with the Galaxy S25 or S25 Plus over the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy S25 seems like a well-rounded compact device, probably one of the thinnest and lightest in its class, too, but it fails to impress with meaningful upgrades this year, and it's been running on the same camera hardware for a few generations now. Most of all, we are grumpy for not seeing some of the features of S25+ trickle down. There's no bump in the charging speed, no UWB support, it comes with 128GB storage by default, and battery life isn't exactly on par with the competition. Sure, the new AI smarts are nice, but the big upgrade in the software department doesn't make up for the lack of hardware innovation. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 is a solid all-rounder. It doesn't stand out, but it's somehow "good enough", especially if you are looking for a compact Samsung flagship. That's pretty much your only choice.

What this means is that the Samsung Galaxy S25+ and S25 phones feel more like Samsung-flavoured takes on the Google Pixel. The design is unchanged from last year's. It's bland, inoffensive, and somewhat lacking in personality. And of course, there are new colours.

Samsung knows how to build a phone. The fit and finish of its latest flagship handsets are impressive, whether aluminum or titanium. The feel of the glass, the metal finish, and side button tactility are all best-in-class. Samsung's OLED displays are also above reproach, offering high brightness, excellent contrast even in low light, great saturation and amazingly low reflectivity, in the case of the Ultra. Last year's Samsung flagships were fast, but Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite sets a new standard for flagship performance. The thermal performance could be better, but the 8 Elite is so fast you should still see good performance even when the phones heat up. And if you care about AI, the Galaxy S25 series will really wow you.

If you like your phones to be equal parts compact and capable, there still isn’t anything quite like the Samsung Galaxy S25. By today’s standards it feels downright tiny in the hand, yet it packs an outsized level of performance and stamina. Unlike Apple and Google, Samsung continues to insist that a dedicated telephoto camera should be a baseline flagship specification and, while it would have been nice to have seen some advancement on the hardware, the Galaxy S25 continues to take pleasingly vibrant snaps – if still comfortably short of the best. Samsung’s AI implementation continues to be among the most extensive on the market, though I remain unconvinced as to the practical usefulness of much of it.

Most of Samsung’s new additions are software-based, given the company’s massive partnership with Google and its dogged pursuit of an AI-heavy approach to offering a renewed phone experience through One UI 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Many of these features work well, assuming you care enough to use them regularly and rely on them to make a difference. There’s no dispute that the entire mobile AI experience feels most seamless on a Samsung device. This is in addition to the assurance of Samsung Knox security and integration into other Samsung products, such as SmartThings-enabled appliances or its wearables, like the Galaxy Ring. However, it remains to be seen how the Samsung Galaxy S25 series (especially the Ultra) truly adds value to existing Samsung flagship users. If you’re on an older Korean flagship, chances are you have already experienced many cool AI features seen there either as a download or add-on, or you’ve relied on older versions of its firmware (pre-One UI 7).

If you want the latest and greatest Android flagship in a compact size, the Galaxy S25 should be on your radar. To be honest, there just aren't that many alternatives. The Pixel 9 Pro is one with a similarly great camera, but it has a slower processor, it costs more, and it is not quite as small and lightweight. You can also consider the iPhone 16 Pro, but that also costs $1,000 and is not quite as compact. The Galaxy S25 keeps a very lucrative $800 price, and it has an absolutely stellar processor. The improvements to AI also make it the most advanced AI phone in our view, but we are not sure if many of those new features won't actually make it to other Android phones in a couple of months. While the overall compact flagship formula does not change too much with the Galaxy S25, it is a nice refinement of one of the best compact phones around.

It looks great, features compelling new AI features (that need further testing before passing judgement), and for two-generation upgraders there'll be clear appeal. The move from Samsung's Exynos processor to a bespoke Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite offering, plus the RAM upgrade, should see the performance and, of course, AI features excel – meaning little compromise compared to the larger S25 Ultra. It's these internal changes and the doubling-down on Samsung's own software where this little handset will bring big potential.

It's too early to pass a verdict on this mini flagship's battery life or everyday experience, but here's an idea of what to expect from this compact OneUI 7 smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is certainly a beast with that 8 Elite, smashing through games like Wuthering Waves, no stress. Plus that gaming mode has FINALLY been updated! The battery tech is unchanged, as is the camera hardware sadly. So while the Samsung Galaxy S25 can capture great looking pics most times of the day, the ultra-wide and zoom sensors struggle at night time. Same goes for that selfie shooter, especially when recording video. Of course, the Samsung S25 is all about AI, as usual. Some but not all of these new features will be coming to the S24, as most of them run on the phone using that 8 Elite's NPU. However, is that enough of a reason to upgrade?

Most of the new AI features seem to revolve around Google Gemini, which is also available on cheaper phones such as the Xiaomi 14T Pro, so I'm a bit confused by the positioning here. Given how expensive the Galaxy S25 phones are compared with their Chinese rivals, they don't seem to have enough to stand out for now. But then again, I wonder just how much AI features people use, and whether these features drive adoption. My gut says probably not a lot. Prices start from S$1,288 for the Samsung Galaxy S25 (256GB), S$1,478 for the Galaxy S25+ (256GB), and S$1,828 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB). Pre-orders are now open till Feb 13. In other news, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is finally available now in Singapore at S$538. We hope to get the review units for these devices soon, so stay tuned.

The phone’s AI assistant — which is now based on Google Gemini by default, with Samsung’s own Bixby relegated to access through its app — can control your phone with natural language requests. Ask it to make text bigger or find photos from your last holiday, and it should oblige. Gemini can now also work across multiple apps in a single interaction, though this upgrade isn’t exclusive to Samsung. It might look up a good restaurant and share it with your friend or pull up sports fixtures and add them to your calendar. The problem for me is that most of these features are hard to test in-depth when you’re at a launch event using a phone that isn’t yours, has few apps installed and no accounts signed in, and might have only been set up for the first time that morning.

If you've got money to burn and want the best possible camera setup, check out that Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This upgrades the ultra-wide to 50MP, while you get the same 200MP main shooter and dual lens telephoto camera arrangement as usual. This 6.9-inch behemoth of a phone also offers that S Pen stylus and more rugged design vs the S25 and Plus. All three boast a glorious Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that's pleasingly bright and poppy, although only the Ultra has that Armor 2 anti-reflection glass. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus sports the same QHD+ resolution, while all three are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite. So gamers should be satisfied, especially as Sammy has boosted the vapor chamber size. No changes in the battery setup however. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and its smaller siblings stick with the same capacity as the S24 series. Likewise, charging speeds haven't improved - although you do get Qi 2 wireless charging support in 2025.

At first glance, we had mixed feelings about Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series. While the hardware is solid as always, it doesn’t really push the envelope in terms of specs, which is somewhat disappointing. That being said, the customized Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC that powers these devices should deliver a nice boost in overall performance, along with improved thermals on the S25 Ultra. This should help to maintain performance during extended use. And again, some of the new AI features and functionality – like Gemini being able to interact directly with apps, and the “Personal Data Engine” secure, on-device LLM – is very intriguing. We’re looking forward to testing this in our forthcoming review.

The good news is that the rumors about price hikes weren't true, so the starting price of the entry-level configurations remains the same - €1,450/£1,250 for the S25 Ultra, €1,150/£1,000 for the S25+ and the vanilla asks €900/£800. The bad news is that all three offer modest upgrades over their predecessors, especially the S25 and the S25+. They both feel kind of neglected this time around. And while the S25 Ultra's new, more pocketable design is certainly exciting, the S Pen has lost its wireless connectivity features, which were the sole reason many of us here at GSMArena HQ took the stylus out to begin with. Samsung might as well do a full circle and offer a version without the stylus altogether. Anyway, one thing is clear - Samsung is betting big on AI and software polish and improvements, but it's early to say how this move will pan out regarding sales.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is now available for pre-order and will officially release on February 7th. In Canada, all three handsets have seen a price increase. The S25 starts at $1,198 CAD, the S25+ at $1,438.99, and the S25 Ultra at the insane price of $1,918.99; we can blame this on our dollar. Although the U.S. price for the S25 Ultra starts at $1,299, which converts to $1,862 CAD, so it looks like there’s a bit of a Canadian premium. I expect a similar experience to last year’s phones, but I hope these AI features will surprise me and upgrade the experience. I’ll put the S25 Ultra through its paces for the next two weeks. It's the same old story once again—or at least it seems that way at this preliminary stage. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus look strikingly similar, much like their respective predecessors, with the primary differences being screen size and battery capacity. This comparison will soon be updated with benchmark scores and camera samples. However, even at this point, it’s evident that Samsung is sticking to its usual formula: offering a slightly larger version of its standard flagship with a bigger battery and a larger screen. Whether people will be willing to pay the extra $200 for the Plus remains to be seen.

Let’s make no bones about it, you won’t be upgrading to this phone if you have a Galaxy S24, or maybe even if you have a Galaxy S23. Because of the iterative nature of this phone, the feature set will really only appeal to those who have an older handset. There are few changes to the design, and even though the new chipset and 12GB of memory are very welcome, there’s not a lot else here to shout about. And that’s a great shame, since the Galaxy formula is a great one – it’s just this feels very much like an inbetweener. 2026 is a long time to wait for a genuine next-gen device and it feels like on certain specs the S25 has been left behind. Rivals are circling and the S25 doesn’t do enough to keep ahead.

My end feeling after a short time with the Galaxy S25 is that it is a phone that stands very much on its own. With the power and performance on offer, in a phone this small, slim and lightweight, it’s got no competition in the Android space. iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are, arguably, its only real competitors. So if you want a small phone that’s as powerful and feature-rich as you can get, and don’t want an iPhone, this will likely be your best and only choice in 2025. Unless brands like Asus or Sony finally refresh their small phone collections. Its portable and nimble nature are its biggest draws in my mind. But with rumours of a so-called ‘Slim’ version in the near future, could things get even more compact? Only time will tell.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Интегрированный графический блок в SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite для смартфонов с тремя платами по 1,1 ГГц каждая. Встроенный общий кэш-память объемом 12 МБ для трех сегментов. По данным Qualcomm, на 40% быстрее, чем предыдущее поколение (Adreno 750).

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

SD 8 Elite f. Galaxy: Высокотехнологичный SoC (System on a Chip) для смартфонов, который был представлен в конце 2024 года. В него интегрированы два быстрых ядра Oryon Gen 2 Prime с частотой до 4,47 ГГц и 6 меньших ядер Oryon Gen 2 Performance с частотой до 3,53 ГГц. По сравнению с обычным Snapdragon 8 Elite, вариант "для Galaxy" предлагает немного более высокую тактовую частоту.
